Abstract
This research aimed to determine the role of the principal in increasing the disciplined character of educators in Islamic boarding schools at Takhassus Al-Qur'an Elementary School. This research used descriptive qualitative method. Data was collected through interviews, observations and written notes. Data examination techniques were divided into several stages, including: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results showed that: 1) The character of discipline possessed by educators was so important as an example where exemplary in discipline was needed, discipline was able to improve student achievement, together with students optimizing discipline as the implementation of the Al-Qur'an values practice. 2) The role of the school principal in increasing the disciplined character of teaching staff in Islamic boarding schools at Takhassus Al-Qur'an Elementary School included the role in the recruitment process of teaching staff so that educators with disciplined character were recruited, the role as role models in applying discipline, the role in understanding the description of their duties so that the effectiveness of carrying out each task could be optimal, the role in understanding the regulations made by the previous headmaster and the role in understanding the strengths and weaknesses possessed by the school.
